2013 Jim Bokern Presentation

On October 5, teacher and historian Jim Bokern presented an overview of existing prehistoric and historic cultural resources in the Presque Isle area including the Van Vliet Hemlocks property. He described the rules for cultural artifacts found on public land, discussed the presence of witness trees and survey markers in the hemlocks, and showed early maps of the area. An attempt will be made over the next year to document more evidence which will be used to create a cultural history education component for the Friends.
