2012 Member Hike
On May 12th, a dozen member of the Friends of the Van Vliet Hemlocks hiked with Randy Hoffman, the Natural Areas Ecologist for the Wisconsin DNR. Randy explained the nature of old growth, identified bird calls, found a blue spotted salamander, and pointed out various spring plants. It was an excellent educational outing on a beautiful spring afternoon.
