Background and Interests
After a career in health care, I am drawn back to what has fed my soul – the natural world. To care for that natural world is one way I want to spend this stage of my life.
Reasons for signing up for this program
I have known bits and pieces about the natural world, but never have had a context and framework for those bits and pieces.
This course also gives me the resources and a venue for volunteering at the Discovery Center.
I would also love to develop a stewardship project of some sort at AVW grade school in Arbor Vitae – Bird Club, picture post in their nature trail, or join one of their expeditionary learning units; as I was a trained parent volunteer at the Program beginning in 1999-2001.
Specific naturalist areas of interest
Birding, wild flowers, seasons, forest succession.
My nature slogan that might change the world!
Go outside and play!
