In 2024 we welcomed over 100 attendees to our first conference. We are excited to return this event in 2025 with even more to offer our audience. This event will be held in-person, with an additional virtual option to share all presenters in the Lodge to our on-line audience.
We are currently accepting proposals for presentations on the following topics based on needs and attendee feedback, but we are open to considering all presentation topics that relate to our Northwoods' woods and water: Shoreline restoration, native plantings, ecological restoration techniques, success stories, Eurasian watermilfoil, quagga mussels, healthy Lakes practices, conservation, woods/forests, wetlands, invasive species, wake boats
Northwoods Bird and Wildlife Festival

Friday May 9 and Saturday May 10, 2025
At North Lakeland Discovery Center's Bird & Wildlife Festival, attendees explore wildlife with a variety of guided hikes and tours, bird watching expeditions, live bird of prey presentations, bird banding demonstrations, and interactive workshops. Learn about migration, gardening for butterflies, and turtle conservation from knowledgeable experts while immersing yourself in the natural wonders of the area.

Bat Fest 2024

Celebrate critters of the night with the Discovery Center!
This FREE event features a live bat chat, educational nocturnal animal activities, a walk through bat cave, critter crafts, candlelit stroll and more!
Food by Martha Kelly Catering will be available for purchase in our Historic YCC Lodge from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
