  • Buildings and Grounds Assistant

    We are looking for someone who aspires to work as a part of conservation, community, and the great outdoors. 


    The Buildings and Grounds Assistant is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all North Lakeland Discovery Center (NLDC) buildings, grounds, trails, and equipment to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Duties include property and grounds maintenance, trail care, equipment servicing, and boat transport, as well as providing support for programs and special events. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the organization’s facilities and supporting its mission by collaborating with staff and assisting as needed.

  • Ecological Restoration Technician

    This position is responsible for engaging in restoration and habitat improvement activities through our campus gardens and Northwoods woods and water. As a Ecological Restoration Technician, work includes planting, seeding, weeding, watering, and tending to our native habitats and discovery gardens, in addition to assisting with other ecological restoration projects as a part of our Woods and Water team. The Ecological Restoration Technician also provides high quality, engaging assistance to visitors who are interested in our gardens and delivers guided educational walks to visitors throughout the summer.
