Jenny grew up in Laona, Wisconsin, and earned a B.S. degree in environmental science from the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay. Before assuming her current position at Trees for Tomorrow, she held several seasonal natural resources jobs, worked as a water resource specialist for the Montana DNR for five years, and stayed home with her children for five years.
Jenny enrolled in the Master Naturalist Course to enhance her teaching skills as an environmental educator. Although she had previous employment in natural resources, she wished to learn nature interpretation techniques to use with her students. In addition, she simply wanted to learn more about where she lives. Jenny is drawn to wildlife, especially mammals, and loves hiking for recreation.
