Liz’s new granddaughter represents the fifth generation of her family to spend time in the Wisconsin Northwoods.  Liz has special interests in forestry and wildlife management, and is a member of the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association and the Northwoods Land Conservancy.  An avid birder, she has honed her bird identification skills as a member of the North Lakeland Discovery Center’s Discovery Bird Club.  Liz especially enjoys the woods in winter, either by snowshoeing on her own land or cross country skiing with the Northwoods Ski Touring Association.

Liz enrolled in the Master Naturalist Course to increase her knowledge of Wisconsin’s natural resources to better advocate for conservation.  She has previously shared her passion for the outdoors as a Scouting volunteer.

Recommend resources:  The phone apps “Merlin Bird ID” and “Audubon Birds” for birders of all levels; The Sibley Guide to Birds as a reference book.

Liz’s Advice:  Improve your physical and mental health by engaging in the Northwoods’ silent sports- walk, cycle, canoe or kayak, ski, and snowshoe!
