Born and raised in New Jersey, Dick fell in love with the Northwoods when he married Liz, a lifelong visitor to northern Wisconsin. Dick first became involved with the North Lakeland Discovery Center by attending the annual Birding Festival, and he is now an avid member of the Discovery Bird Club. Dick’s interests focus on the silent sports of the North. He loves exploring the woods with his Irish Setter and enjoys lake swimming, sailing, and cross country skiing with the Northwoods Ski Touring Association. He gardens for wildlife, and as a nature photographer, he rarely goes into the woods without a camera.
Dick enrolled in the Master Naturalist Course to do something special in his first year of retirement by learning more about Wisconsin’s natural world.
Favorite resources: Golden Guide nature books for good basic information on a variety of subjects.
Dick’s slogan: Everyone is a steward of the earth.
