Mother

Anita grew up as the daughter of a farmer and a school teacher in that state to our west- Minnesota!  After meeting her husband in Minneapolis in 1980, she became a yearly visitor to the Northwoods, even after moving to California, and she now spends most of her time here.

Anita volunteers regularly in the North Lakeland Discovery Center Nature Nook.  She enrolled in the Master Naturalist Course to become a better volunteer guide by expanding her knowledge base.  Anita has a particular interest in preserving the health and beauty of our treasured northern lakes.  When visiting California, she has also used her business background to prepare income tax returns for seniors, through AARP.

Anita’s favorite natural history book:  Graced by the Seasons, by John Bates

Anita’s advice:  “Get out and DO something!”
